Diocesan Ministry Days
Diocesan "Ministry Days" are an annual cycle of diocesan gatherings for our clergy, parish staff, and other church ministers to come together for prayer, sharing, learning, and planning relating to our common ministry here in southern Minnesota. Held in the fall, spring, and early summer each year, these gatherings also provide professional in-service and enrichment opportunities for these ministers.
Ministry Days 2014
Come gather with other parish leaders in the Diocese -- priests, deacons, religious, and lay -- for two days of education, conversation, prayer, and community building. Ministry Days 2014 will be held on Monday, June 9 - Tuesday, June 10, at Saint Mary's University in Winona. This year's gathering will bring a team from the Augustine Institute in Denver, CO, to begin a formation process, called Symbolon, which seeks to "transform parish leaders to become effective instruments of the New Evangelization through doctrinal, spiritual, and pastoral formation."
The year-long process will include:
- An initial two day training at Ministry Days featuring keynote presentations on the New Evangelization and breakout sessions for the RCIA, Adult Faith Formation, and Youth Ministry.
- Monthly webinar trainings (from August, 2014 - May, 2015) for both the RCIA and Adult Faith Formation tracks.
- A one day, on-site follow-up training (to be held in Spring, 2015).
