The Office of Lay Formation provides education and formation opportunities within our Diocese to support lay women and men in living out their lay vocation both in the world and within the Church.
The diocesan Institute of Lay Formation is a program of prayer, study, and reflection on the Catholic Faith and on the life of discipleship and service within the Church. The Institute has three formation components:
- a catechetical/theological formation component, CREDO ~ Together in Faith
- a lay leadership formation component, CARITAS ~ Together in Service
- a continuing education/formation component, EMMAUS ~ Together in Christ.
“Ministry Days” are an annual cycle of diocesan gatherings for our clergy, parish staff, and other church ministers to come together for prayer, sharing, learning, and planning relating to our common ministry here in southern Minnesota. Held in the fall, spring, and early summer each year, these gatherings also provide professional in-service and enrichment opportunities for these ministers.
