Christ the King Parish, Byron, Autumn Festival. Begin the Fall Season with your friends at Christ the King Parish. The festivities will start off with a Silent Auction. Doors opening for bidding at 3 p.m., A delicious “all –you- can- eat” Autumn Dinner of Roast Pork, complete with dressing, cheesy potatoes, salads, rolls, pie and beverages will be served from 5-7:30 p.m. Dinner prices are adults $9; Seniors (age 62 and older) $8; children ages 6 – 12, $5; ages 5 and under, free. Household family meal, $35. Big ticket Raffle drawing will begin at 7 p.m. followed by announcement of silent auction winners. You need not be present to win.

St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 816 Hubbell Ave., Mankato, invites you to attend the annual Fall Festival. The celebration begins with Mass at 10:30 a.m. and the Festival to follow. Featured activities include music by the Jim Lawrence Orchestra, a Silent Auction, games for kids and adults, Hubbell Avenue Reruns, Raffles, Crafts, Bake Sale and a Cake Casino. Hot beefs, brats, pies and more will be served at family friendly prices. Please join us.

St. John Vianney Parish,  Fairmont, annual Fall Festival at the St. John Vianney School. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  Cost for adults, $8.50; children ages 4-10; $4.50; children age 3 and under, free. Tickets will be sold at the door. Take-outs also available. The festival includes children's games, "Cookies by the Pail," bingo, and other activities. Center pieces and extra pies will be for sale after the dinner.

All Saints Parish, New Richland, Fall Festival. A Mass featuring Polka music will beginat 10 a.m. Turkey dinner with all the trimmings served 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the handicap-accessible church basement. Cost for adults, $8; ages 12 and under, $4; preschoolers, free. Carryouts available by calling (507) 465-8381. Afternoon fun events at the New Richland American Legion Hall. Country store, raffle, bingo, auction and cake walk.

St. John Baptist de la Salle Parish, Dodge Center, 19th annual Turkey and Ham Dinner, served family style, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost for adults $9; ages 6-10, $4.50; preschool, free. Take outs available. Raffle, silent auction, bake sale, and games for the kids. A Mass featuring Polka music by the Carry J. Polka Band will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Dining area is handicap accessible.

Holy Redeemer Parish, Eyota, an omelet breakfast fundraiser to benefit the Faith Formation Program, serving from 7-11 a.m. A “build your own omelet,” muffins, juice, milk and coffee are on the menu. Adults (ages 16 and up), $6; ages 5-15, $4; ages 4 and under, free. A matching grant will be provided by St. Aloysius Catholic United Financial (formerly the Catholic Aid Association).

October 2

St. Columbanus Parish, Blooming Prairie, fall dance and raffle. A Mass featuring polka music will begin at 4 p.m. A supper will be served at the Serviceman's Club from 5-7:30 p.m. Cost for adults, $5.50; children, $2.50. Dance, featuring The Laverne Wanous Band, will run from 7:30-11 p.m. Dance tickets are $5 at the door; children are free with an adult. Raffle tickets, games for all ages, prizes and more.

October 3

St. Matthew's Parish, Vernon Center, turkey dinner served from 4-7 p.m. Family style roast turkey with all the trimmings and homemade pie. Silent auction. Sponsored by the Catholic Aid Association, which will make a matching grant for parish education purposes.

St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Rochester, Fall Festival. We invite the community to come celebrate faith, family and fun with us.  We are located on the corner of 11th Ave and 3rd St SE in Rochester. Activities begin around 8:30 a.m. with fresh cinnamon rolls, Mexican tamales and Vietnamese eggrolls. A delicious turkey dinner with all the "fixings" will be donated by the Powers family/Canadian Honker Restaurant and will be served from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Advance tickets are available at the church office or you may buy them at the door.  Silent auction with a large selection of items, and a big ticket raffle with the top prize being $2,000.00 cash. There will also be a country store and bake sale, Christmas store, jewelry booth, health and wellness activities and much more.  There will be entertainment on the stage throughout the day. Children's activities will also be available.

Immaculate Conception Parish of rural Kellogg will hold its annual church dinner from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Family-style chicken and ham dinner including homemade pies and buns. Activities include Big Ticket raffle, bake sale, basket raffle, garden produce, and grocery cart raffle. Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

St. Edward Parish, Austin, will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 3. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., followed by a potluck dinner and program, and games for young people.

St. John the Baptist Parish, Minnesota Lake, fall turkey supper serving from 4-7 p.m. Turkey, dressing, potatoes, salad, dessert. Carryouts available. Cost for adults, $8; ages 10 and under, $4; preschool, free. Country store will feature baked goods, garden produce and crafts.

October 9

St. Peter's Parish, Hokah, annual Roast Beef Dinner (with our famous homemade dressing and all the trimmings) serving from 4-8 p.m. Served Buffet Style in the dining rooms. Adult carryouts will also be available (sorry no children's carryouts). Cost for adults, $9; ages 6-12, $5; ages 5 and under, free. Before the date, tickets will be sold at the Hokah Hardware, Hokah Co-op and the St. Peter's School Office. Day of dinner,  tickets will be sold at the doors only. Be sure to stop and visit our Country Store and Farmers Market, proudly sponsored by St. Peter's School Board.

October 10

St. Catherine Parish, Luverne, Fall Fest. A Mass featuring polka music by the Peter and Paul Wendinger Band will begin at 10:30 a.m. A grilled pork loin dinner with scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, green bean, and an ice cream buffet will be served from 11 a.m.-1p.m. Bake sale, games for all ages, inflatables and more. Polka Music will be played from 11:30 to 2 p.m. Silent auction winners, as well as gift basket and big ticket drawings at 2 p.m.

St. Mary's Parish, Minneiska, Annual Fall Festival.  Mass is at 10:00 a.m. featuring music by "Christian Crossings.” A roast beef dinner with all the trimmings served 11 a.m.-2 p.m.  Cost for adults, $9; ages 9 and under, $4. Carry-outs available. Bake sale. Raffle drawing at 2 p.m.

St. Mary’s Parish, Winona, 35th annual River City Festival, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Breakfast available at 9:30 a.m. Dinner served beginning at 11:30 a.m. Pork loin dinner, walking tacos, chicken strips, and mashed potatoes available for dinner, plus lots of good food available all day. Big Ticket Raffle, Big Wheel - play all afternoon with handmade quilts and great prizes, silent basket auction, kid’s carnival (11a.m.-2 p.m.), grab bags, farmer’s market, and plant sales will all make it a fun family and friends day!

St. Patrick’s Parish, West Albany, will hold an auction on Oct. 10. Silent auction opens at 11 a.m., live auction at 12 noon. Lunch will be available.

St. Patrick's Parish, Lanesboro, Fall Fest from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the church hall. Bake sale, theme basket silent auction, Treasure Shoppe, raffle tickets. Lunch serving opens at 11 a.m. Meatloaf, party potatoes, corn, broccoli grape salad, warm crusty buns, pickles, apple pie squares with ice cream, coffee and milk.  Cost for adults, $7; ages 6-10, $5; ages 5 and under, $2.

St. Pius X Parish, Rochester, annual Fall Festival from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m.  A roast pork loin dinner with apple crisp dessert served 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost for adults and teens, $8; children ages 5-10, $5; children 4 and younger, free.  Silent auction, raffle featuring a $500 top prize, coffee cafe,  children's games and teen video games. Local celebrity Dennis Hanson also emcees his version of popular game show "Deal or No Deal." Our Lady of Good Counsel, Wilmont, Annual Fall Bazaar and raffle. Ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, home grown corn, applesauce and squash, pies and desserts.  Serving 11 a.m.-1 p.m.  Adults $8; ages 6-12, $4; preschool, free. Silent auction, quilt chances and big ticket raffle drawing will be held after dinner. October 16

Sacred Heart Care Center, Austin, Fall Craft and Bake Sale, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Day Care Area. Sponsored by the Auxiliary, at Sacred Heart Care Center, 1200 12th St. SW, in Austin.

October 17

St. Agnes Parish, Kellogg, annual fall dinner and festival at the Parish Hall.  The celebration begins with Mass at 10:00 a.m.  The turkey dinner will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.  Menu includes turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy, rutabagas, beverage and apple or pumpkin pie.  Cost for adults, $8; ages 6-12, $5; ages 5 and under, $2. Carry-outs available.  Speciality auction, country store/bake sale, tootsie roll game and book sale.  This year’s raffles include:  40” flat screen TV, Wii game bundle, gift card basket, quilts, guns and theme baskets.

St. Joseph's Parish, Rushford, annual Fall Festival and Swiss Steak Dinner with all the trimmings (including home-made pie!) on Sunday October 17, at Montini Hall. Cost for adults: $8.50; ages 5-12: $4; ages 4 and under, free. Carry-outs available. Deliveries available in Rushford.  Bake sale, Country Store, cash raffle, silent auction and more! October 2

Christ the King Church, Byron, will hold its Fall Expo from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. featuring more 50 arts-crafts and home-based businesses. Most vendors will have cash and carry items for purchase. Products include: kitchen accessories, food items, custom bird houses, fine jewelry, decorative and functional items for the home, holiday decorations, skin care and cosmetics, hand-crafted soaps, quality baskets, appliquéd towels and aprons, candles, purses, children’s toys, and more! Baked goods, beverages and lunch available. The first 50 customers who enter after the doors open at 9 a.m. and the first 50 customers who come in after 12 noon will receive a gift bag!

St. Felix Church, Wabasha, Knights of Columbus Council #881 is holding a Polka Mass, Dinner and Dance featuring Gary and The Ridgeland Dutchmen. The Mass featuring polka music will begin at 4:30 p.m. A German dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m., and the dance will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the St. Felix School Gym. Dance tickets are sold at the door for $6 per person. German dinner and dance special is $13 per person. Proceeds will be donated to the St. Felix Grade School.

October 24

Saint John Nepomucene Parish,Winona, annual Fall Festival at Saint Stanislaus Church Hall at 625 East Fourth in Winona. A beef tips dinner will be served from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  Cost for adults, $8; ages 6-12, $4; ages five and under, free. Tickets can be picked up at the Church Office, 625 East 4th Street, (507-452-5430) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday or at the door the day of the Festival. Events run from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. including Big Ticket, quilt raffle with more than 40 handmade quilts and other prizes, basket booth, candy booth, gift store, grocery cart raffle, pop, popcorn, and children’s games. The drawing for the Big Ticket winners will be at 5 p.m. Lunch will be available starting at 1:30 p.m.

St. Mary’s Parish, Worthington, fall dinner and festival. Turkey and pork dinner with all the trimmings served from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Cost for adults, $8; ages 10 and under, $4. Silent auction, “parade of purses,” children’s games, crafts, country store, candy booth, grab bag, bingo and more.

Christ the King Church in Medford will be holding their annual Turkey Dinner and Fall Festival on Sunday, October 24th, 2010.  A turkey dinner will be served from 11 am to 1 pm at Celebrations Lodge (formerly the Medford KC Hall) in Medford. Dinner includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, cole slaw, rolls, cranberries and homemade pumpkin pies.  Cost will be $9 for adults and $4.50 for kids (5-12yr) with preschool age "free".  Activities for the day will include a Silent Auction, Raffle, Bake Sale, Quilt Sale and Games for the kids.  Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.

St. Mary’s Parish, Caledonia, annual Holiday Bazaar from 11 a.m.-5 p.m Serving delicious roast chicken dinner from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., gift shop, stage raffle, bake shop, fish pond, sweet shop, cake walk, bingo, kids booth and chance booth along with big ticket drawing at 5 p.m. for chance to win $4,000 and more.

October 30

Holy Family Parish, Kasson, will serve a DAD’s Belgian Waffle Breakfast from 7-11 a.m. All you can eat waffles, flavored syrups and whipped cream, sausage links and beverage. Cost is $6 in advance or $6.50 at the door. Ages 5 and under eat free. Carryouts available. Hosted by the Holy Family Youth Group to benefit youth missions.

Community Events

Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, Mankato, holds a Mass in Honor of St. Monica praying for Fallen Away Catholics every fourth Tuesday of the month (except August). The next will be June 22 with devotions, including rosary and novena prayers, beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Mass at 7 p.m. St. Monica was the mother of St. Augustine who left the Catholic Church when he was a boy for another sect. The constant prayers, sacrifices and tears of his mother for almost 20 years helped to bring him back to the Faith. Intentions may be sent to Father Joseph LoJacono, IVE at josephlojacono@ive.org, dropped off at the parish office or brought to the Mass.
