Office of Communications
The Office of Communications is managed by the Director of Mission Advancement and (1) is the liaison between the diocesan bishop and the news media on issues important to the public; (2) generates, through the media, awareness of what the diocese is doing in areas of general interest or concern; (3) assists other diocesan offices in communications matters; and (4) searches for ways to keep the Gospel message before the general public and to better educate Catholics in their faith.

This Mass is aired each Sunday on the following broadcast stations:
KTTC-TV, Channel 10, Rochester at 9:00 a.m.
KEYC-TV, Channel 12, Mankato at 7:30 a.m.

Purchased Radio/TV Time
Seasonal messages from the bishop are aired on 8-10 radio stations during the seasons of Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter. A special message from the bishop is also televised during Holy Week/Easter. Occasionally, the office sponsors or co-sponsors special Catholic programming on one of the major network affiliates.
Tu Companero Catolico, a half-hour, Spanish-language program filled with music, health tips, spiritual topics and news of special interest for Hispanic families, may be heard on four stations in the Diocese of Winona:
Mankato, KYSM-FM (103.5), Sundays, 8:30 a.m. (sponsored by the Diocese of Winona and New Ulm)
Pipestone, KLOH-AM (1050), Sundays, 4 p.m.
Albert Lea, KATE-AM (1450), Satuardays, 4:30 p.m.
Austin, KAUS-AM (1480), Saturdays, 5:30 p.m.
Newspapers
Eight daily newspapers are published in the diocese--more than in any other Minnesota diocese including the archdiocese. Each receives, as do the 60-plus radio stations and three TV stations, regular news releases regarding events and activities of the diocesan church. Whenever subjects warrant, this office also generates news in the form of feature material.
Diocesan Newspaper
The Director of Mission Advancement is also editor of The Courier, the diocesan newspaper.
